Paint Shop Pro 7 Cutout Tutorial
You'll need Jasc's
psp 7 or Jasc.com
(download 30 day trial version)
You'll need font. You can download the font Here
Install this font into your C:\Windows\Fonts folder. If you are using
winnt it should go in C:\Winnt\Fonts
Save this texture image in your hard drive

Ok now let's start
1. Open a new image with 400x65 - 16 million colors, with transparent
background.
2. Flood fill your background with solid color -- #A9B9AE
Your image will look green.
Now with the help of text tool add Deco Font or any
desired Dingbat font on your solid green background.
Settings should be like this:
foreground color - #A9B9AE
Background color - green texture. Open the green texture image which you've
saved in your hard drive. Now add this texture with the help of patern.
Click on arrow of foreground color box to select patern icon then click
on foreground color box to select green texture (see pic).
Now add DecoBorders font with the help of text tool
Use shift E key for the font. I've kept size - 72 (see settings) click
ok.
Your text will look like this
Do not deselect. Now add cutout Effects - 3D Effects
- Cutout
Keep Fill interior with color -- unchecked
Shadow color -- Black
Opacity --100
Blur -- 5
Vertical >> -2 and Horizontal >> -2
Now apply the cutout filter again with shadow color --
White and Vertical -- 2 and Horizontal -- 2.
Now Add drop shadow Effects - 3D Effects - Drop shadow
Settings should be like this:
Color -- #636D65
Deselect by right clicking inside the image. Save your file.
That's it you are done!

You can make cutouts with little variation in many ways. Change settings
of cutout and drop shadow and see how it works. Here I kept foreground
color as solid color instead of texture.
