Basic Tutorial (How to use psp 7)

Different tools of verticle tool bar:
Picture Tubes
Color Replacer

Paint Brush

This tool is used to replace one color with new color in any image.

To activate this tool method is the same as previous.
Open desired image or save eagle pic in your hard drive from previous lesson.

Open eagle pic in psp7.
Keep settings like this:
Foreground color - as white (or desired color)
Background color - select the bgcolor (black) from eagle with the help of dropper which you want to replace.

Now click on color replacer tool.
Now place the curser on eagle pic and click with left mouse button and drag to paint it with white (pic 6.3)

Note: if you find that it replaces color from undesired portion i.e. inside the eagle. You can adjust tolerance in Tool options to match the exact color. Go to color replacer options - change tolerance little bit here and there and try again till you get desired effect.

Picture Tube: This tool can be used in different ways to paint the picture. Activation method is the same as previous.

You can get lot of good picture tubes from website. Find with keyword psp tubes. Download it and unzip it in your hard drive. You will find this file in .tub format.

Now you will have to install it in your picture tube folder. Here is the method.

How to store it in your tube folder:
Note: Any file you want to store in tube folder needs single layer and 24 bit image type.
tub files - this file can be unzipped in winzip and store directly.
If file is gif or jpeg you can still make the tube from it.
# Now save the (pic 6.5 & 6.6) in your hard drive. Pull this file from your hard drive in psp 7.
# Now on star picture click on the background color (white) with magic wand.
# Now go to menu bar Selection - invert you will see that only stars are selected now.

# Now go to (Edit - copy) to copy this selected area.
# Open new image with 125 width, 85 height, transparent color. Now paste this selected picture in this transparent box as new selection.. (Edit - paste - as new selection).
# Now you have 6 stars in new image with transparent background (pic 6.7).
# Click with left mouse button on this image to remove selection. Do not save it at this point.
# Ok now you are all set to save this image in tube folder.
# Follow the below Method File - Export - picture tube and so on to store this image in tube folder.

For .tub file - Open the unzipped file in psp 7. Now follow this method:
For tranparent image with 6 stars file now follow this method.

Method:
File - Export - picture tube - a dialog box will open up now keep the settings like this
Settings for star picture: (pic 6.7)
Cell across- 3
cell down - 2
total cells - 6 (it will automatically show it)
tube name - give any name call it star6 or so.
Click ok. Now click in any other tool and come back and look in the Tool options and you will find it there (pic 6.8).

For single image setting should be like this:
Now save the christmas bell with this settings.
cell across - 1 (becoz we've only one image)
cell down - 1 (becoz we've only one image)
total cells - 1(it will automatically show it)
tube name - bell (or anything you want to give) (pic 6.5)

Now how to use it:
# Open new image of 300x300 with white background.
# Click on picture tube button from left side verticle tool bar.
# Now click in Tool options select star picture (pic 6.8) (If you do not find star picture click on the arrow of image box see the arrow near by star image click on it)
# Click on change scale in tool options to 25 (select the number with mouse and type new number in it.)
# Now click on the new image with mouse button. You can see it makes star image (pic 6.9) . Every time you click you will get different colors of stars.

Change scale settings to 50 or 100 or 150 and see how it works. You can make different size of stars. (pic 6.9)
